November seems to be the month of challenges. For me, I’m gonna take effort to unplug me off the social network’s algorithm.
We’ve been living in the era of short content, that’s terrible enough. but with the help of AI LLM, content creator is now a dopamine industry. I’m not saying that all the content on twitter, facebook, instagram, tiktok, … are garbage, some of them have good value, some of them are funny, but life is too short for dumpster diving.
Of course, the above statement is not new, this has been told for years, but the fucked-up part is, the algorithm behind those platforms. I scroll it, I hate it, I turn it off, but I keep coming back.
So, hence, the challenge 🔥
I’m not making this a full month challenge, I will start small with only 1 week challenge from today. I logged out of almost all my social network accounts (I keep linkedin 👷♂️ ++ ). I deleted all the social apps (except linkedin also 👷♂️). I blocked all state-controlled news/media like vnexpress, tuoitre, … I don’t needs to stay up to date anyway. I blocked a loads of other forums, distracting sites.
So what I’m gonna do? I don’t know, I might try to read or write more. I might not. But my biggest hope is that I could re-learn how to stay focused, I don’t want to press Alt+Tab every 4 fucking minutes of doing something I find uncomfortable. And I want to reduce my mobile screen time below 2 hours a day.
Actually, this is not my first time, it sounds easy but it’s not. My mind will cry for a quick check to see how everyone is doing, and what’s my friends posted on their profile. My mind will beg me to play a quick video game match or to see a triggered picture. It will try its best to find a work around. I know it all.
But it’s fun to take a challenge and posted on somewhere,
Let’s see
Jere,
Day 0
